No Joke, huge amounts of players strive to be the next "star" in poker, but here is a short rundown on 4 of the more well known "charming pros" of poker. Despite the fact that "nice" is associated with their names when you are playing them it is "no more Mr. Nice guy" until they have removed you out of the competition!
Daniel Negreanu
In Two Thousand and Four, his tournament payouts amounted to in the region of $4.4 million and he came away with two immensely admired awards in the WSOP Player of the Year and Cardplayer Magazine’s Competition Player of the Year. In Feb Two Thousand and Six he was chosen Card Player’s Favourite Poker Player. Daniel still has the decency to talk with his fans about how they can improve their own game.
Howard Lederer
Referred to as "The Professor" and brother of fellow poker pro Annie Duke. His accomplishments have allowed him to make an educational poker video called "Secrets of No Limit Hold’em" and also hosting a tournament poker show for Fox. As of 2005, his complete life winnings surpass $2.7 million.
Scotty Nguyen
Scott is one of the busiest players in poker and between 2000 to 2004 he placed in the money in well over one hundred events. He’s noted for saying "yeah baby" during poker matches and also coined the phrase "that’s poker baby" when alluding to a particularly bad beat. As of Two Thousand and Six, his career winnings are just about six million dollars.
Chris Ferguson
Chris has earned 5 World Series of Poker titles with 2 of his wins happening in Two Thousand and Three. Chris has the alias "Jesus" as a result of his trademark long hair and beard, along with his ability to toss playing cards quick enough to slice through bananas and pickles. As of 2005 his total live poker tourney earnings exceeded five million dollars.
